Excellent customer service!
Had a technical issue with my first order BUT the response from the vendor was prompt and effective! Important to note that I think the general instructions that comes with the toy may not be correct. It says to turn the toy off before charging and a light will let you know when it is fully charged. By trial and error I realized that it needs to be ON while charging, and the ALL the lights will flash fast intermittently while charging. When its fully charged the lights stop flashing and becomes steady. Once I figured out the correct way to charge the unit I've had no issues. It's a JOY to fly! Very durable and FUN to fly! This is my third helicopter and my favorite so far!! Highly Recommended!

Extremely underwhelming, only aesthetically pleasing helicopter
This item did not turn out as expected or completely as advertised. I'll break down why below.
[1.1] The charge time to fly time ratio is much too small.
[1.1.1] Charge time is approximately half an hour.
[1.1.2] Fly time never went beyond 5 minutes of total time in the air. Much of this is taken up dealing with the following performance description.
[2.1] Side motors/strafing feature
[2.1.1] The two motors on the side of the helicopter meant for a strafing motion are activated in an awkward fashion. The throttle needs to be on and you use the same control stick pushed to the side at the same time as increasing the throttle to activate these motors. In consequence, you usually end up increasing or decreasing the flying height of the helicopter.
[2.1.2] Even if you get comfortable with this fashion of operation, the propellers barely move the helicopter side to side. In fact, most the time it didn't move to either side at all.
[2.1.3] I'd prefer just to not have these at all as it makes the helicopter unbalanced to have the positive pressurized air from the main props have to push around these features jutting from the side.
[2.2.1] Considering the poor performance of everything else, the helicopter lifts itself in the air surprisingly fast. It took about 2 seconds to jump up to 6 feet.
[2.2.2] That being said, the lift is a little hard to control. It's either not moving or speeding upward.
[2.2.3] Descent is also uncontrolled. The motor seems to almost shut off unless you very painfully slowly decrease the throttle. Even then I could never accomplish a smooth landing without it bouncing from impact (no, this isn't my first flight mechanism purchase/experience...or my second...or my third...).
[2.3.1] After multiple attempts at varying the speed (because there is supposed to be a speed setting function which is nice), I could not get the helicopter to move more than turtle pace forward or backward. This is the slowest moving RC helicopters I've seen. This applies to forward and backward (although backward is a little bit faster).
[2.4.1] The rotation/turning operation of the helicopter is quick and easily controlled. Although this satisfactory performance is overshadowed by the slow forward motion, which makes this point moot when it comes to fully functional flying.
 Material quality
[3.1] Okay so since I did purchase this item obviously I wasn't looking for high performance carbon fiber propellers or any equivalent make up in other components. However, the side strafing propeller did just randomly fall off of the motor shaft during the first flight without a crash to cause this. Further more, just trying to put it back on snapped it in half. To me, that means low quality control and low material quality. You can still get affordable plastics that don't snap in half with 10 newtons of force applied (yes, I've got calibrated fingers ;) ).
[3.2] Furthermore, the landing skids are all plastic. Why?? I mean really... I've got good reason for this drama. The landing skids are one of the most important parts. With the thin plastic these are made of and judging from the cheap plastic material choice for the side propeller, I'm guessing these skids won't outlast a fall from 4 feet 5 times. If you break these, you're done. You can't lift off with no skids to level the helicopter.
[4.1] All the above being said, there are some cool things to this helicopter. If you get one where the strafing function actually works, that's pretty unique and a fun feature. Unfortunately, I won't experience it with the copter I got.
[4.2] The speed setting is nice (again, if it works) and there is a setting for having the lights on or off.
[4.3] Aesthetics. The thing looks cool.
This helicopter is not worth its price. You can get much better performing RC copters for less and not be mislead by descriptions/advertisement. There are some unique features, but most of those didn't even work. It looks good, but most people won't buy this to sit on their shelf or to just slowly float around their house for 5 minutes maximum.

These helicopters were awesome!! Got 3 of them for my grown adult boys for Christmas. They arrived on time and in tact. The boys had loads of fun with them. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that it should come with a bag full of replacement propellers, etc because those broke off fairly quickly after a few crashes. My boys are VERY rough on their toys. It did come with replacements for the big propeller, but not the little stabilizers. Is ok though, they still fly without them, just not as easy to steer. and the boys still love them. But I will be looking for replacement parts next. I would recommend this product, just know that they aren't made out of steel and will probably break at some point. I would totally buy these again if the opportunity arose.

Good Starter / Intermediate Helicopter.
Very powerful lift and surprisingly maneuverable.
The coaxial blades provide a very stable flight and the side fans add the ability to move left and right.
The flashing lights look cool and you can even turn them off if you don't want them on.
Two speeds for an added boost and a demo mode that will have the copter perform a figure eight without having to work the controls.
If you've tried other coaxial helicopters and would like something a little more challenging but aren't ready or don't have the room indoors to fly a single blade helicopter.
Then this would be a good Helicopter for you.

Customer service was 5 star excellent and replaced the helicopter with a mid-sized
. Customer service was 5 star excellent and replaced the helicopter with a mid-sized, immediately. Have not had a chance to use the mid-sized helicopter, but it looks awesome. The smaller only worked the first time and not the following day, even after following the directions exactly
