Beware of using the wrong bags (read this)
This is a no frills cleaner and is light weight to lift but don't let that fool you this thing is an animal of a beast on cleaning. It lifts the pile of the
carpet and deep cleans better than any other vacuum I have ever used. After I used it four times the bag was about 1/2 full so I decided
to put on a new bag. And that is where my problem started. When I bought this vacuum I also bought a pack of 25 extra bags. And not
knowing that all oreck bags were not the same. The ones I ordered were blue and was labeled that they would fit my commercial vacuum.
However the bag that came with the vacuum was light green when I changed it with one of the blue ones I instantly lost 1/2 of it's suction.
I thought some thing had clogged the system after I checked every thing for a restriction and found nothing. That's when I dug deeper into the
part number of the original green bag. What I found it was hypo allergenic and they sell them on fan-key
For a pack of 25 their part number is PK800025DW.... (wright this number down!!!) Make sure they have DW on the end of their part number
and they are light green!!!
So I ordered a pack of them after I installed one of them the suction returned like it was when it was new. I will be returning those blue
bags. fan-key should state what bags that work best with the vacuums instead of offering a discount on a pile of bags that doesn't
work.... So save a headache and get the right bags to start with.
Also I checked on the net and found several sites that sell any part you will ever need to keep your oreck vacuum repaired.
This is a big plus if you are thinking of buying them to use in the lodging business or other commercial use.

BUY IT! I did all the homework. At this price point, this is the best value you're going to get as of May 2015.
I recently spent entirely too much time researching price versus performance of vacuum cleaners after being tired of spending $200 at big box stores and having to replace units every 2-4 years. I was on a mission. Admittedly, I had previously never bothered to shop around because I thought all vacuum cleaners were the same. I was wrong.
I was immediately delighted to read reviews on here detailing how Orecks Have lasted several years, including the span of 25 years.
Before doing this research, I was unaware that it was possible to buy commercial grade vacuum cleaners without buying in bulk.
The endurobelt was also a factor in my purchase, as this is usually the first component to fail. Five years on a belt before failing is unheard of, and the price difference between units without it was only about $30. No brainer.
I never thought I would say this, but vacuuming using this unit was a pleasure!
It is super light. It is actually easier to use than previous models that had all the bells and whistles as well as manually-adjustable height. You do not need the extra weight of headlights. Just use room lights.
I found myself never using attachments on previous vacuum cleaners. They had added extra weight and also routed the vacuum power such that suction was diminished. This is not the case with this unit. It was able to effortlessly pick up dirt better than any other unit I have ever used.
Just as salient: using filter bags. My previous units were bagless models, and I hated them. Emptying them resulted in Dust and particles getting everywhere. Cleaning the container was a chore because debris got stuck in tight spaces, which meant reaching in with my hand and touching God knows what.
Since the replacement bags average between $1-2 each, are easy to replace, non-messy, and more hygienic, I will not being going back to bagless.
My only complaint is the awkward extension cord. The length is utterly fantastic, as is the ability to disconnect from the unit. However, A better winding mechanism or retraction capability would have made this already great product even more stellar.
The numerous hours I had spent tracking down this model were well worth the effort.

Oreck Commercial U2000RB-1 Vacuum
I really truly love this vacuum! I had a refurbished one that I purchased on ebay and used it for 10 years until it died. After doing some research, I decided to get another one. The U2000RB-1 has some nice updates - the longer piggy back cord, and the helper handle are two that come to mind immediately. It sucks up dog fur and dirt like crazy, and has no problems going from wood/tile flooring to carpet, and small throw rugs. I use the Enviorcare Vacuum bags, and they last a good two months each, and that's with three dogs, all being heavy shedders. Before purchasing on fan-key.com, I called Oreck customer service to make sure this was an authentic Oreck, and that the warranty would be honored. They do sell on several on-line discount websites, and the warranty is honored. Oreck lists this vacuum at $249.99 on their website, so the fan-key.com price of $189.00 and free shipping was a no brainer.

It still worked great on floors
My last Oreck lasted for over 15 years! It finally got to where it would not pick up hardly ANYTHING on my carpet. It still worked great on floors. I shopped around for a few days (even went to our local Oreck dealer)and I kept coming back to this one. BOY am I glad I ordered it!!!! I LOVE IT! Of course, the first thing I did was try it on my carpet! I was like a kid at Christmas!!! I was sooooo excited when it picked up EVERYTHING with only going over it ONCE! My old one I had to go back and forth and most of the time it STILL wasn't picking up anything! THIS ONE IS FANNNNNNNTASTIC!!! Can't say enough good things about it ESPECIALLY for the price!

Vacuumed the whole house the first day. Stairs never looked as clean and fluffy. Simple and easy to use. It's not a very wide swath, but I think you can make up for that by moving a little faster; the suction is great. It's the perfect size for wide carpeted staris. Hopefully it will last as long as others have said. I bought belts but the manual says that the belt never ever needs to be replaced; if the brush jams, the vacuum stops instead of melting away a hole in the belt. We'll see!

I have been using it for past 6 months and you can tell the difference between this professional vacuum and the competition. It really pulls the carpets hair out and is very powerful. Noise level is like most vacuums out there and the ability to move power cord is phenomenal. My only complaint is that it doesn't carry a hose to clean certain areas. Otherwise product is awesome

Nearly perfect; just wish it had attachments
Folds flat to vacuum under tables
Vacuum bags take forever to fill up
No hose or attachments
Still managed to clog it when cleaning up after taking the Xmas tree down
All in all, I'd recommend it but you need a good hand vac with attachments to get into the small spots.

Strong Suction for Everyday Use
We needed to find a vacuum that would help us contain the pet hair running throughout our home. I look at many fancier vacuums but really wanted something that was just designed to clean without all the frills of attachments and extra features. This does the job wonderfully and works fairly well on our hardwood too! I use almost daily, it is light and easy to use. I wish there was a cord hanger for it, but have found by looping the cord and placing over the handle, it stores just fine. I would recommend to anyone.

Commercial equates with easy to use for this vacuum :)
If anyone had told me that I would be giving five stars to an upright vacuum cleaner, I would have laughed in disbelief.
After having so many different upright vacuum cleaners over my lifetime, I had decided to give up on them and just use a canister style. I found that pushing and pulling the uprights caused back pains. I also never felt as though I had the right setting for the rugs and carpets. The uprights just seemed to be more trouble than they were worth to me, especially when the belts broke or the bag style was discontinued.
However, I was always intrigued by the Oreck ads touting the lightweight uprights. Yet, whenever I thought about getting one, I found that the number of different models made it difficult to choose which might be the most appropriate for my needs.
fan-key made it easy for me when this model became a deal of the day. Before that, I would not even have thought about getting a commercial model. Since it seemed to have all the features that I liked, long cord, permanent belt, multi floor surface cleaning and a helping hand handle, I decided to take a chance and order this upright.
This vacuum exceeded my expectations. It does easily move from carpeting to area rugs to tile floor and there are no settings that need changing. The only problem I had at first was when I accidentally ran it over the fringe end of an area rug. It immediately stopped when the fringe caught. I had no trouble moving it off the fringe and restarting it and I learned to stay away from those edges.
I have never had an upright that I could so easily use under a king size bed. This vacuum easily goes under the bed and allows me to sweep the entire area without hurting my back by trying to move the bed.
The suction power is strong both with the advanced filtration bags and the regular bags.
The assembly was easy. I just needed to remove two screws on the back along with a protective piece of plastic, insert the handle into the opening and replace the screws.
This Oreck commercial vacuum has changed my mind about upright vacuums and I am so glad that I got it.

Simple, effective work horse vaccum
We've had this vacuum for about a month now after our 3 year old Shark starting acting up and just didn't vacuum well. We vacuum frequently and frankly, still had some fancy attachments in the original package when the Shark crapped out. I just wanted a good vacuum, and nothing else. The Oreck has been just that. It's a little workhorse that vacuums our 7 year old carpet great. I have also never seen a vacuum clean a wood floor as well as this does. The Shark had a wood floor setting, but it just seemed to sort of kick it around. The long cord also gets me almost all the way through the house without having to re plug-in. No, it's not fancy, no, you're not getting 20 attachments, maybe 2 of which you'll use. Buy this and a strong hand vacuum and you're done. It's also super light and looks retro cool!
