A Light box for Artists/Adults - not just Kids.
I'm an adult and I use this light box all of the time for my own art projects. Forget the $150+ light boxes unless your passion/profession depends on having one.
I use it to
It has long battery life. it uses LED. IT'S bright enough for tracing though 120lb watercolor paper and to use anywhere but bright light/sunlight. I definitely recommend for children to adult artists.

Stan the Man Reviews: Crayola Trading Light
This is only for tracing. Did not work for slide and negative viewing since there is a patter of small black dots. Gave the thing to my little grand daughter to trace with and she loves it.
Basically, it is a well made tracing toy for kids and works well for that.

The tracing pad allows her (age 5) to easily express her artistic creativity in many different colors
Bought this as a Christmas present for my niece and she loves it. We knew we were getting a quality product from Crayola and we were definitely not let down. The tracing pad allows her (age 5) to easily express her artistic creativity in many different colors, WITHOUT having to resort to an iPad or other electronic device. Given that the young generation is so technology and iPhone crazy, it's a pleasant sight to see our niece enjoying this product :)

This is awesome for doing my calligraphy lessons
This is awesome for doing my calligraphy lessons! I'm sure I could have paid much more, but thought I would try this out first. I have a very small light box that I purchased years ago for doing papercrafts, but it is so small that it makes a tedious job of using it. This has a nice size work surface and I know this one will do anything that I may require.

I bought this as a gift for our 6 year old. Our son immediately use the Tracing Pad as soon as he opened the box. As a mom that can not draw this item comes very handy because I don't have to trace on my computer, lol. Now, my son can do his own tracing. What's awesome is that it came with drawing that he actually traced, and choices of clothes and accessories to draw on the character. This tracing pad is absolutely not just for the kids but also for the kids at heart.

Great for the artist!
I'm am artist, and I needed a light pad for tracing and doing line work. Let me tell you, this thing works great. I can even see through thick watercolor paper in the dark. The only bad thing is the blue little bar around the pad and that anything bigger than printer paper fits awkwardly.

Artist Light Board For Sketching
I am a sketch artist and work with pencil and pen. There are times when I wish to trace shapes for the basis of a new art piece. Artist light boards are rather expensive and I was not sure if I would like one or not. The Crayola Light Board was recommended to me by another artist. It works pretty good! For now, it does the job I need without the extra expense of the artist models. Mine cost around $20...you can't beat the price.
It comes with children's templates to draw with...if you have kids you might get use out of them. I just leave them in the box. :)

The tracing pad works. My son who has difficulty manipulating things with his fingers and normally doesn't like to color immediately began to trace with the newly arrived device. My one criticism is that the tracing templates (and there are many) came partially curled up. That is, the papers were not flat and smooth. The papers had curves in them which made it difficult for them to lie flat on the surface of the drawing pad. Nonetheless this item appears to motivate my son with wanting to making greater use of his hands. I may write back later to give an update on how long he sticks with it.

Pretty good for adults, too
Pretty good for regular art , not just kids' stuff. At least as good as some of the more professional style ones I worked with in high school, and a lot more portable. The light is not *that* bright, though. I used to to trace an image onto Canson XL Recycled Bristol (I'm not a pro, I haven't really taken classes, that's just what's on the front of the pad) , which is kinda thick, and some parts of the original image were too hard to make out. But it's still way better than transfer paper/tracing paper, and definitely functional enough for your average schmo artist like me.

My 13 yr old grand daughter would place copy paper on my computer screen to trace. And she would do this for hours a day. I bought this for her and she absolutely loves it. She had a smaller one but because it didn't fit the whole paper she preferred to trace directly on the screen. This fits a normal size copier paper. I was a little concerned when I first turned it on because the screen isn't a plane bright white but has almost like a screen underneath the white board you can only see when you turn on the lights. My grand daughter clapped her hands and gave me a huge hug and kiss and immediately went and grabbed some pictures to trace. She is not so much into making her own pictures yet but she uses coloring books and pictures of my little ponies, etc to trace. She has been on it all day today. Highly recommend!!

Crayola Light Up Tracing Pad Blue
This is the perfect size for copying applique pieces for quilt blocks. So much cheaper than various light boxes for purchase. This would be enjoyed by children from age 3 and up to adult. It seems to be a hard product to find except on fan-key.

Wow! I was thrilled after going through the box to find out how many ways I'll be able to use the light for background work. It's very adaptable to different types of art work so will take great pleasure in working with it. Thanks.

I have been waiting on something like this
No only did I buy this one, I bought 2 more at a local store. The first one is for this old Granny. I have always wanted a "light box" so that I can put a sheet of lined paper under a top sheet and write in clean, straight lines. The other 2 are for my 2 older grandsons to draw/trace Star Wars pictures.

Good for a kid
This simple backlit board provides hours of fun! This was one of the birthday presents for my daughter's 8th birthday. She was very excited that she could trace whatever picture she wanted and color it the way she likes.
> Fits a regular A4 sheet
> Comes with a set of images
> Decently bright back light
> Can hold the paper in place
> Can use any image from a magazine or print out to trace
> I even use it to trace my applique designs onto the HeatNBond before ironing to sew.( I used my window before I got this, which worked out fine, but I had to stand to trace.)
If the light were brighter, we could trace onto cardstock for making homemade cards.

bought one for me and one for grandkid
Bought this for tracing shapes for making appliques for quilting seems like it's going to work just fine. We also bought one already for a Christmas present for our granddaughter she likes drawing and it was a great price. It comes with some tracing paper plus some that have stuff already printed on it. Wasn't real excited about that the plain tracing paper would have been better.Other then that very happy with this

My kids love this, and so do I
This was one of the best presents we got our kids. It really teaches them to draw. The templates come in layers, so first you use the outline template to draw the people. Then you use the next template to add clothes. The final template lets you add accessories. I only wish they provided links to reprint the templates as my kids destroyed the first set pretty quickly. If you buy this, make photocopies of the original templates before giving them to your kids. By the way, this works fine with regular printer paper - no need to buy special tracing paper.

Fun for Kids who love to doodle.
My nephews loved it. Easy to use...the only thing was that the product page I found when ordering it said it used C batteries. It used AA batteries. Make sure you order those or have those on hand when you get this. It is lightweight and definitely portable. Great for anyone who likes to draw, to help sharpen up some skills.

Lots of fun and mix and matching
This was a hit with my grand daughter & my daughter. Lots of possibility to mix and match. Bonus is you can go to website and download other pages to trace! http://www.crayola.com/free-coloring-pages/light-up-tracing-pad-coloring-pages/
