4 Stars By Shell on 2014-03-21 Not bad for the money. If you're looking for a very-well made case that will protect classified documents from spies, this AIN'T IT.
BUT, if you're looking for a decent case that looks cool and isn't too expensive, this will probably fit your needs.
The Good: Looks cool — people will ask if you have a million dollars in there or whatever. Maybe a cute girl or guy will chat you up. Will protect your computer reasonably well.
The Bad: Looks cool — people will chat you up asking if you have a million dollars in there or whatever. If you're concerned about looking overly conspicuous or you're worried about getting mugged, you might want to get something more discrete.
The combination wheel mechanisms are pretty crappy on mine. One of the number wheels will only move in one direction. But if you're handy with a (metal) file, you might be able to clean up the shoddy workmanship (workpersonship?). Or maybe you'll be lucky and get a better one than me. That said, it *does* work, just not well.
The side panels area a bit flimsy. Don't throw this thing off a side of a cliff. The handle is made of plastic and wiggles a bit when you walk around. A little annoying. Not the end of the world.
In the end, I feel like you get what you pay for with this thing. If it sounds like it suits your needs, and you don't mind some of its problems, then buy it. But if you're looking for something a bit nicer, buy something else.
4 Stars By fan-key Customer on 2017-01-23 Internal care measurements vs laptop measurements The Solo 17.3" laptop attache hard-sided case is the beautiful case. As a Christmas present I was given an Asus 17.3" laptop computer that I thought would fit in this case. But it did not. If the case had been 1" wider and 1.5" taller, the Asus computer would have fit beautifully, and the Solo case would have remained mine! It would have been nice to know what the internal measurements were before purchasing the case.
5 Stars By David and Suzanne McClendon on 2017-04-08 Exactly what we need! We just received our Solo Laptop Attaché case that we ordered from fan-key. It arrived very quickly and was in great condition.
The one thing we like about this attaché case is that our entire studio, minus the tripod, will fit in it.
There is room for our video camera along with our microphone and headphones. There is also room for extra cables, smart cards, and batteries.
The case is hard-sided and durable. It looks well and appears that it will protect our entire studio for years to come.
It has a movable divider to protect smaller components and a separate zippered bag that would be great for holding a power supply.
We have only had it a few days, but we are very pleased with our purchase so far
4 Stars By Lazybones on 2017-01-27 But good luck with that If you want something indestructible or that will last forever then you're going to need to spend allot more money. But good luck with that. This case is relatively tough but I wouldn't be throwing off a cliff or out of a plane like some secret agent escaping from behind enemy lines. It's worth the price for what it is. I'd recommend it for normal everyday use. I had to add a little glue to the padding but that was no big deal. The locks work fine thus far.
5 Stars By jazzyeric on 2017-06-26 Great case. But, black would be better than silver to hide scratches This case has been to South America and back with me 6 times. It is a very solid case. I mainly carry electronics and documents (passport, files, etc) in it. I really wish that I could find it in black instead of silver. It really shows scuffs and marks easily. Generally they can be wiped off but I have a few that won't. If it were black it would be perfect. But, I am still going to give it 5 stars because other than what I mentioned above, the case completely fulfills my needs. I have had no problems with the handle or latches as some others have reported. It is a vast improvement over my old school leather attaché that I used for years.
5 Stars By A. Mellon on 2016-03-02 he hated his last laptop carrier My husband LOVES this case. Of course, he hated his last laptop carrier, so anything would have been better, but this exceeded his expectations. It is enough like a briefcase and laptop carrier that it does the job well, but also rugged enough to handle being lugged around by a guy who works in the field a lot.
5 Stars By Mark L. Wurzel on 2017-05-16 It's the simple things. It's the simple things. For 15 years I've been buying Samsonite attache cases. After about two years, the latch would inevitably break and I'd buy another Samsonite attache case. I finally decided this was crazy and decided to look for another brand. The Solo attache appears much more durable and, here's what I really love--the dials on the combination locks turn incredibly easy. Not so with the Samsonite attache cases. It was always a struggle to lock and unlock the case. I never knew a combination lock could work so smoothly. I used to think they were all the same (they look the same). They are not the same. Buy a Solo!
5 Stars By K.Alfonso on 2017-06-04 Nice inside compartments Exactly as advertised. Seems very solid in construction, and also is generally ascetically pleasing as well. Nice inside compartments. My only real complaint or draw back, is the inner sides are NOT padded. Not ideal for computer caring, but I put some padding around in there and now it its fine...
4 Stars By Jeremy H. on 2017-01-02 I loved this case from the moment I saw it I loved this case from the moment I saw it. I showed up at appointments and everyone knew who I was UNTIL one day I could not open it with my secure code. I still have faith that this is the best case every I just need to know how to break the code ( not VALIDIMAR inspired). Any Ideas other than a locksmith or SledgeHammer??
