Great for sensory input and for regular entertainment
I purchased this item per an occupational therapist colleague's recommendation to leave on my therapy table, as many of the children with whom I work have sensory needs. They sometimes play with this as we work when their hands are idle and it helps them focus. They all love it, even those that do not like sensory input amds those that have typically developing sensory processing. Meanwhile my own kids saw it before I took it in to work and they all begged me to keep it at home. I wound up ordering a couple of the larger size for the house while I actually prefer this smaller size at work as I have limited space. If you look for toysmith it is quite easy to find the correct size. The larger one has 6 black screws, while this smaller one has 4. Now after several years of abuse by children with a variety of developmental needs, one of the corners has broken and I feel as though the pins are no longer as secure as I would like. Therefore I am happily now ordering a fresh one to replace the old one. Considering the bangs and the beatings it held up pretty well. Also the children are always supervised while using it so I was never concerned about safety in regards too questions about choking hazards. Incidentally, some people mentioned that theirs arrived broken and they threw it away. My large ones were completely broken on arrival and I contacted amazon. They immediately sent replacements and the knew ones arrived perfectly and are still enjoyed by everyone who sees them.

on 2015-11-11 WRONG SIZE LISTED ON PAGE - PLEASE FIX THIS
The main listing states "The pin art frame measures 5-inches by 7-inches." THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT SIZE!!! THIS IS A SMALL VERSION. (3.5"X5")
Further down on the page (in the description), it states "Product Details: Product Dimensions: 3.8 x 2.5 x 5 inches". Please do not purchase this item unless you want a small version of the pin art frame. I am returning this item today and purchasing a larger version.
Please correct this so future buyers don't order with the intention of getting a 5"x7" product!Toysmith Pin Art (Black)

Retro is fun!
Wow what a surprise retro gift that was a massive hit this Christmas with my children! I mean hours of play on this little guy and caught some adults messing with it as well at the Christmas party ... LOL

Mine came broken and I am returning it. Beyond it being broken, I would have returned it anyways because it's so small. Approximately the size of a deck of cards, MAYBE a tiny bit bigger. You can go to a big box store and get one of these that your hand will actually fit into, and that will break in two seconds for a lot less $.

Great price for good fun
This has been lots of fun for our kids. They love setting small toys on it and seeing their shapes poke through. They have fun putting their hands and fingers in it. While it seems to be good quality, one corner piece fell off after taking it out of the box. It is still usable and neither kid even notices. They continue to pick this up and play with every couple of days. I like that it encourages kids (and adults!) to use their imaginations and to be creative.

Good Product Awful Packaging
The product itself is good and light weight. Good enough for my son who has SPD. His OT recommended such toys for his sensory issues.
PROBLEM WAS THE PACKAGING
The product arrived with other toys loose in a box without protective surroundings. The toy was out of its box that was ruined. The toy was not severely damaged "just a couple of bent pins". Another product that was shipped with it was "Do A Dot Art Marker Rainbow". It seemed that there was so much weight was put on the box that made the color red break to spell the color all over the other toys including the PIN ART that was luckily easy to clean.
This was a horrible experience with a shipment but Pin Art was durable enough to survive with the least expected damage.

It is a fun toy to fidget with
I purchased this as a little extra something for a 10 year old's birthday. It turns out this little extra something was a huge hit with kids and adults. It is a fun toy to fidget with...

Great for Sensory Processing Disorder
The Easter Bunny left these in my children's baskets. 3 of my children struggle with sensory processing. 2 seek sensory input and one avoids sensory input. They all love these toys and they are great for car rides! The small size is perfect for small hands! And it has a soothing or calming affect on my kiddos. My older child just loves playing with it too and she has no sensory issues. They have dropped it a few times, and so far no damage, but I am worried that one day they will crack the plastic cover. Much better then the plastic needles. Don't buy the ones with plastic, my kids take those apart in minutes. These are a much better quality.

Love it! It's smaller than the one I had as a child but still just as entertaining
